GET GONE Monday I changed the beds and put the old sheets washing then settled
down to a solid day of work in the office. Dead on time, the doorbell goes and I walk up to the house to let the beaming Jina in. She loves it here, mind you everyone except you know who, likes it here and never want to leave. I left her to it and came back down to the office to finish off as dinner will be another forty minutes. Very nice. Some tasty soup and rice for starters and then the
meat main course. Nothing spectacular, but very very tasty, just like
she will be after a shower. By the time we had finished eating and talking
it was nearly ten, so we decided to get our showers and get under the
sheets while energy was still high. I lay for a while, feeling her rhythmic breathing as she peacefully went to sleep still cuddled into me. Pondering on my present life of plenty and how it would only get better. This relationship is only temporary and I have fully explained to Jina that it will finish before I go to Mombassa. I know she is hoping that things might go differently, I guess most women would in the same situation. But there is no love or spiritual connection on my part, as I say to her, we are just enjoying the moment. She will be very sad when the end of June comes, but she will have many happy occasions to remember in the future and, I think this encounter has set a new high standard in her expectations from any man in the future. So she is not only having fun but, will learn and gain immensely from this short relationship, which is good and makes me feel positive and rewarded. Tuesday After she went, I settled into some work. The first inspection
of course was Georgia. Still looking very weak and keeps falling down
when she climbs. So I tried making some high pitched sounds sucking in
between my teeth and noticed the head instinctively go up and beak open
slightly. Inspiration dawned and I quickly opened a tin of rice pudding.
Reaching inside I managed to grasp her firmly without to much flapping
and held her loosely against my chest, whilst sitting down in the chair. Just remembered the text this morning and looked to see who on
earth would text me at that time. It was from Evelyn in Malindi. They
are two hours forwards and guess she forgot that. Anyway, it said to
check my email which I am now doing. Just
been chatting to someone from Birdline and they say that Georgia is
a green ring neck parrot, possibly around two months old and not yet
weaned. No wonder she thinks I'm mum! I've just had her out again on
my lap and feed her some apple which I chewed first and she took from
my lips without hesitation. The lady from Birdline suggested I buy some
baby parrot food from the vet and I'm off there now. The interesting thing is that according to the vet, ring necks make excellent pets. He suggested handling her all the time and she will end up tamer than most parrots. So who knows. I shall see what her karma is when she is strong again, if she wants to fly away, so be it. At least she will have tasted a little kindness and love along the way and I will have created a good cause. Seems I've been doing that for many years, maybe now its time for my payback and some great joy will come my way. Just realised, these bird is an AFRICAN ringneck! What is this karma Eliza has created, I even have African birds - the feathered sort - now! Don't forget to choose and ad you like and click it. It costs you nothing but helps towards my financial independence.
